For more than a decade, Farayi Chipungu has taught leadership and change at Harvard Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School, with a focus on Adaptive Leadership. She works with senior executives, partners, and public sector leaders to bridge the gap between knowing what needs to change and being able to make it happen.
Before joining the Harvard faculty, Farayi spent more than fifteen years on the front lines of the work she now teaches. She trained and practiced as a corporate lawyer at King & Wood Mallesons and Slaughter and May before spending a decade at McKinsey & Company as a consultant and later a Senior Advisor, leading large-scale transformations across the public, private, and social sectors. That experience, spanning the boardroom, the classroom, and the field, gives her a grounded understanding of what it takes to lead when the answers aren't obvious and change cannot be managed through expertise or authority alone.
Today, Farayi works with organizations around the world to help leaders build adaptive capacity and lead meaningful change. She has taught, coached, and advised more than 5,000 executives, practitioners, and entrepreneurs. Her sessions are engaging, highly interactive, and grounded in the realities of leadership, equipping participants with ideas and tools they can put into practice immediately.
